I feel like one of my primary jobs is to teach Christians how to realize and spend their inheritance. I am convinced that, for the most part, the Church has left the riches of Heaven sitting in the bank, thinking that we only get them when we die and go there. The belief that Heaven is entirely a future reality has reduced far too many of God’s declarations in Scripture about the believer’s identity and calling to “positional” truths that are acknowledged but never experienced. It is time for that to change. - bill Johnson

That's a good word right there. Amen. Let's go to the bank.

Storms.

Great words from the female side of the Cookes:
"I was watching our tree in the front yard as the wind blew it into a bowing position and I thought to myself 'wow that tree is going be uprooted!' instantly God said 'no it's not. It has deep roots!' 'it may be young but it's roots go deep...'
She realized in that moment that our roots must have depth in the soil of His heart. His presence must be our greatest desire. For when the storms come we won't be uprooted! Our faith is unshakeable!

Violence.

Matt. 11:12

For the kingdom of God to suffer violence means that it permits, rewards or requires, welcomes spiritual violence in our pursuit of God.
Yes we have access to everything in the Spirit of God, but we must take hold of it, embrace it.

Jesus is inviting us to spiritual violence saying in essence, “The kingdom of Heaven allows for violence-will anyone receive this invitation?” This applies to more than the area of spiritual warfare. He is urging us, moving us, motivating us to pursue deep intimacy with Him with a holy, violent love and to cultivate a lifestyle of spiritual violence.
What does that mean?
To be spiritually violent means we will pay any price…any price of self-denial in order to obey God’s will. Solomon said it well, ”If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised...” Song 8:7
Another translation reads:
Love is invincible facing danger and death.
Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.
The fire of love stops at nothing - it sweeps everything before it.
Flood waters can't drown love, torrents of rain can't put it out.
Love can't be bought, love can't be sold.

I'm talking about getting in His presence, prayer, fasting, worship...voluntarily choosing weakness so that He is made strong. So excited about Father's Day. Excited about HIM.

In other words, when love is working its way in our hearts, there is no price too high.
The source of our spiritual violence is not fear; it is the love of God.

Video Project.

Draft 04 LACC from Rethink Media on Vimeo.

This is one of the video projects I am working on for Latin American Child Care.

Long Time.

It has been a long time since i posted anything on this...
I think I am returning to this. For better reasons. I have so many thoughts that maybe posting them might help me and others. Ha. Plus I love my family and there are so many profound things that happen with my kids, I have to share. Also, I really enjoy photography so this blog will be an outlet for that. I guess...

One of my favorite pictures while on a plane to Chile. Shot on an iphone.
